Donna Rutter, CPA

President / CEO

Donna has over 30 years of experience delivering strategic tax advisory and tax planning solutions that help businesses thrive. She specializes in business tax structuring, proactive tax minimization, and compliance, empowering clients to reduce their tax burden while staying fully compliant with federal, state, and local regulations. Her expertise spans a wide range of areas, including:

Donna’s representative experience includes a diverse client base — from small businesses and entrepreneurs to Fortune 500 companies — across key industries such as real estate, construction/manufacturing and professional services. Steve Lewis, CPA, MBA

Chief Technology Officer

Steve has over thirty-five years of experience leading companies as Chief Financial Officer, Director of Data Analytics, Financial Operations, and Systems Implementation and data modeling, software programming and FP&A. He is also focused heavily on the usage and implementation of agentic AI in businesses of all sizes.

He assists clients with ERP conversions, system selections, creating custom dashboards to drive decisions for business owners, business valuations, and buy/sell strategies.

Steve’s Board Service includes Pyxis Analytics and Alliance for Children.

Ed Hulsey

Tax Director

With over thirty years advising clients in tax and accounting issues, Ed specializes in Real Estate, Oil & Gas, Construction, and small business operations. 

His experience in partnership and S Corporation tax issues are invaluable to the team and our clients. Ed has a proven track record in advising small business owners on entity selection, financial forecasting, and year-round tax strategies to support growth and profitability. 

Mindy Walker

Tax Manager

With over six years of hands-on experience in public accounting, Mindy specializes in comprehensive tax and accounting services for small businesses.

Her experience includes preparing and reviewing business tax returns (e.g., Forms 1120, 1120S, 1065), coordinating owners' individual returns (Form 1040), and delivering strategic tax planning to optimize deductions and ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations.

Mindy is skilled in utilizing software such as QuickBooks, and Lacerte, with a commitment to accuracy, client education, and proactive problem-solving in dynamic tax environments. 

Sandy Wright

Client Services Supervisor

Sandy has over nine years’ experience assisting clients in resolving tax and accounting issues, while ensuring compliance with federal and state tax regulations. She specializes in Trust and Estate compliance and accounting, sales  tax compliance, and preparing and filing payroll tax reports and monthly account reconciliations while working with clients to resolve their tax issues.

Sammi Gonzalez

Client Services Associate

We are excited to have Sammi join the team in 2025 as a recent graduate of University of Texas at Arlington with a BBA in Accounting. Sammi assists clients with account reconciliations, payroll tax reporting, sales tax compliance, financial statement preparation, and tax compliance.

Jake Waters

Client Services Associate

Jake is actively working towards his Bachelor of Business Administration with a major in accounting. He is QuickBooks Pro Certified and currently assists clients by providing monthly accounting services, bank and account reconciliations, and assists in the preparation of financial reports. Jake prepares tax returns, payroll reports, sales tax filings, and assists clients as needed.

Director of Operations

With over thirty years of experience managing all aspects of public accounting firms, Laura is responsible for the firm operations, quality control, overseeing our tax compliance processes, and firm administration. She is a key member of the leadership team.
